Emily Bazin, MSW

Emily (she/her) received her bachelor's degree in psychology from American University, and a Master of Social Work degree from Smith College School for Social Work. She holds a deep passion for working with children, adolescents, and their families. Emily has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and she has specialized experience working with neurodivergent children who need a high level of support.  Emily is particularly inspired by facilitating therapeutic groups for children and adolescents, finding the group format especially meaningful in addressing emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and social skills.

Emily views her work from an integrative therapeutic lens, with a knowledge base rooted in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and neuroaffirming approaches. She incorporates psychodynamics and relational methodologies in her work, and she believes bringing an authentic presence to therapy sessions can foster growth and change in her clients.

Curiosity, trust, humor, and authenticity are at the center of Emily’s practice. She works to ground her clients in mutuality because she believes that it is essential the treatment feels co-created. She often draws on an identity-exploration approach, facilitating recognition and discovery of clients' values and strengths as a way of navigating life’s challenges. Emily is available to meet with children, adolescents, and adults.
